ABOUT THE SHOW

OPENING TIMES

10am-4pm 

VEHICLE DISPLAYS

Expect to see 500+ vintage, classic and modern classic vehicles on display per day., with previous club representatives including Porsche Club GB, JEC Yorkshire, JEC Doncaster, RS O/C, Project Jay Present.

In addition, there will be a variety of private vehicles displayed by age (pre-60s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s onwards) and category (sports and convertibles, kit, custom and replica and American)

In the classic bike section, up to 50 vintage and classic motorcycles will be on display including models from the likes of BSA, Norton and Velocette.

CONCOURS

All exhibiting vehicles are automatically included in the vehicle judging and awards process which will be overseen by an experienced vehicle commentator and car and motorcycle judge. Awards will be presented across all vehicle categories and culminating in the Pride of Ownership, Club of the Show and Car of the Show awards.

The vehicle concours is located in the event arena and provides a much-loved central feature to the event. There will be interviews with owners regarding their restoration projects and vehicle stories providing interactive entertainment throughout the event. If you have an interesting vehicle or a story behind it, feel free to let our commentator know and he may just arrange for you to be interviewed!

Each vehicle exhibitor entering the arena for judging is eligible to receive a unique and complementary commemorative plaque.

TRADE, AUTOJUMBLE AND RETAIL

There will be a retail village featuring a number of trade and autojumble stalls selling a range of hard-to-find parts, merchandise, memorabilia, craft and vintage items.

There is also a full children’s adventure playground, great to keep the children entertained.

MODERN VEHICLE DEALERSHIPS

The event may feature a selection of modern vehicle dealership and manufacturer exhibitors. If any dealerships are confirmed, they will be announced ahead of the event via our email newsletter and our Facebook page. Visitors can learn more about the latest models, technology and finance products from knowledgeable staff who will be on hand to answer queries.

FOOD AND DRINK, TOILETS

A wide selection of quality food and drink is available from a range of on-site catering facilities including a bar, confectionery, and ice cream vendors.

Portable and permanent male, female and disabled toilet facilities are available.

THE GROUNDS AND VISITOR INFORMATION

Castle Howard is one of only ten ‘Treasure Houses of England’, a group of the finest houses, palaces and castles in England. 

Castle Howard is a magnificent, 18th century historic house in the north of England set within 1,000 acres of breath-taking landscape just outside York.

The Yorkshire stately home boasts world-renowned works of art and stunning architecture having been designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and built with the assistance of Nicholas Hawksmoor.

The grounds include lakes, fountains, temples, and woodland as well as formal walled garden and children’s adventure playground making Castle Howard the perfect family day out, plus enjoy a changing programme of events, children’s trails and a range of cafés and shops including farm shop and garden centre.

Visitors to the Father’s Day Classic Car & Motor Show also benefit from full access to the Castle Howard grounds, gardens and parkland without extra charge (note an extra fee applies for access inside Castle Howard).

OTHER INFORMATION – DOGS, CAR PARKING ETC

We are a very dog friendly organisation and dogs are allowed at the event. We kindly ask that visitors always keep their dogs on leads and use the on-site dustbins to dispose of any dog waste.

Visitor parking is free.

Castle Howard is just 15 miles north east of York and easily accessible from the A64 which connects Leeds, York and the Yorkshire Coast.

EXHIBITORS

For the Father’s Day Classic Car & Motor Show at Castle Howard , an exhibitor pass/ticket gains admission for up to TWO ADULTS.  

Exhibitor tickets cannot be purchased at the event day, only in advance. Therefore, people wishing to either visit or exhibit a vehcile who have not booked in advance will only be able to purchase a visitor ticket on the day of the event, charged at Castle Howard's on-the-day price. 

New Exhibitor Booking Process for 2023

The rules and pricing for exhibitors have been updated from 2022. Please ensure that you read and fully understand the below and look out for any limits on the number of advance exhibitor tickets available and the times for arrival to avoid any disappointment.

To qualify as an exhibitor, the exhibiting vehicle must be aged 2007 or older. Exceptions apply to club vehicles – see below for full details.

Booking Online or via a Booking Form up to 31 March 2023

When booking Online, the price for exhibitors will be £7 (+booking fee) per car and this provides admission for up to TWO ADULTS travelling in the exhibiting vehicle. This increases to £7.50 per car when booking via a booking form.

These prices will only be available for exhibitor bookings made up to and including 31 March 2023.

Booking Online or via a Booking Form from 1 April 2023 onwards

When booking Online from 1 April 2023, the price for exhibitors will be £7.50 (+booking fee) per car and this provides admission for up to TWO ADULT travelling in the exhibiting vehicle. This increases to £8.00 per car when booking via a Booking Form.

These prices will only be available for exhibitor bookings from 1 April up to the last Friday before the event.

Paying on arrival at the event

Exhibitors who have not booked an advance ticket can purchase a visitor ticket on arrival at Castle Howard priced at their on-the-day visitor rate.  Vehcile owners who have not purchased an advance exhibitor ticket can still exhibit, but will need to purchase a visitor ticket from Castle Howard (either in advance of the event or on the day). Please note that this charge is per person and not per vehicle.

General

To qualify as an exhibitor, whether using a ticket booked in advance or buying a ticket upon arrival at the event, exhibitors are required to arrive no later than 11.00am. We cannot confirm that advance exhibitor tickets will be honored for exhibitors arriving after this time. Likewise, exhibitors arriving without a ticket and wanting to purchase an exhibitor ticket upon arrival at the event will need to purchase an on-the-day visitor ticket charged at Castle Howards on-the-day rate. 

Where an exhibitor has an advance exhibitor ticket, this covers up to TWO ADULTS travelling in the exhibiting vehicle and any persons in addition to TWO ADULTS travelling in the vehicle will be charged at the on-the-day visitor rate. Exhibitors arriving before 11.00am and wishing to pay on arrival at the event will be charged at Castle Howard's on-the-day visitor rate. This includes any additional passengers. Please note that this charge is per person and not per vehicle.

CLUBS

Please note, Father’s Day Classic Car & Motor Show at Castle Howard, an exhibitor pass/ticket gains admission for up to TWO ADULTS.

Clubs are asked to book online to benefit from the cheapest and fastest booking process. The cost of booking an advance club exhibitor ticket is the same as the exhibitors prices detailed in the
'Exhibit your classic car' tab and the same dates apply.

Where clubs wish to book more than 5 tickets, the club organiser can book via a Booking Form or by phoning the office and tickets booked this way will be charged at the Online booking rate of £7.00 (+booking fee) per vehicle.

To pre book a club exhibitor ticket please download and complete a Booking Form and send with full debit or credit card details or a cheque payable to Classic Shows, 26 Westgate, Honley, Holmfirth, HD9 6AA or ring the office on 01484 667776.

We ask that where clubs include vehicles aged 2007 or newer, that in order to protect the integrity of the event, that these vehicles do not reflect more than 25% of the number of total vehicles exhibited by that club. If your club features more than 25% of newer vehicles, please contact the office to discuss to avoid disappointment. 

Club vehicles can be situated together and we are supportive of flags, banners and gazebos being used. Subject to space, exhibitors can also pay on the day and locate with an existing club booking.

EXHIBIT YOUR CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE

To qualify as an exhibitor, the exhibiting vehicle must be aged 2007 or older.

From 2023, we will no longer be using the motorcycle season pass. Instead, motorcycle exhibitors can purchase a motorcycle exhibitor ticket directly from classicshows.seetickets.com under the same rules as a classic car or club exhibitor.

Booking Online or via a Booking Form up to 31 March 2023

When booking Online, the price for exhibitors will be £7 (+booking fee) per motorcycle and this provides admission for ONE ADULT ONLY travelling on the exhibiting vehicle. This increases to £7.50 per motorcycle when booking via a booking form.

WHY TRADE WITH CLASSIC SHOWS?

Classic Shows events offer an ideal opportunity to sell, or promote to, a large number of classic car and motorcycle enthusiasts including vehicle owners (exhibitors) and members of the general public (visitors). Common items for sale include hard-to-find parts, merchandise, memorabilia, manuals / books, signs, number plates, polishes and detailing items, vintage/antique items and Americana.

In addition, the events also attract considerable family and day visitors providing further opportunities including craft items, gifts, photographs and posters, clothing and confectionery (fudge, cakes etc).

As Classic Shows events are located at some of the UK’s most prestigious country homes and venues, the events attract a strong ABC1 / professional / high disposable income demographic which in turn presents the perfect opportunity to achieve event profile or sales from a qualified audience.

TRADING PITCHES

Pitches are 6x6m (or multiples thereof), outdoors and are located on grass unless stated otherwise. Pitches are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

We have plenty of outdoor pitches, so don’t expect to run out, but if you would like a particular pitch it’s best to arrive early as we do not reserve outside pitches in advance (other than for Premium Trade – see below).

PREMIUM TRADE

At all events we have identified those trading locations which offer the highest footfall and / or greatest trading profile, for example those locations adjacent to the judging arena, catering village or on the end of a trade row. These locations are ideal for traders wishing to maximise the trading opportunity by promoting a new product launch, product placements or special offers.

Premium trade pitches start from 6x6m and multiple spaces are also available. Spaces are allocated and reserved in advance. A site map is available for each event identifying the premium trading locations – see the Booking Form section of the website for further details.

COST PER PITCH PER DAY

Trade and Autojumble prices are unchanged since 2016.

Autojumble is classed as any item which can be screwed, welded, bolted or otherwise affixed to a classic car or bike, plus repair manuals and parts lists. All other items are classified as trade (such as tools and accessories, books and literature, brochures, toys and models).
