DISPLAYING YOUR CAR, CLUB OR MOTORYCLE

Display your Classic Car

The rules and pricing for car owners / exhibitors have been updated from 2023. To avoid any disappointment, please ensure that you read and fully understand the below details.

To qualify for an advance discounted exhibitor ticket, the exhibiting vehicle must be aged 2009 or older. Exceptions apply to club vehicles – see below for full details.

Limits apply to the number of advance car owner / exhibitor tickets. Only 400 advance exhibitor tickets will be available per day (800 total across the weekend).

The following prices apply to individual car owners / exhibitors and also club bookings:

Booking Online or via a Booking Form up to 31 March 2025

The price to purchase an advance car owner / exhibitor ticket is £5.50 (+£0.41 booking fee) per car and this provides admission for up to 2 adults travelling in the exhibiting vehicle (i.e., the driver plus one adult passenger).

These prices will only be available for exhibitor bookings made up to and including 31 March 2025.

Booking Online or via a Booking Form from 1 April 2025 onwards

When booking from 1 April 2025, the price to purchase an advance car owner / exhibitor ticket will increase to £7.50 (+£0.56 booking fee) per car and this provides admission for up to 2 adults travelling in the exhibiting vehicle (i.e., the driver plus one adult passenger).

These prices will only be available for exhibitor bookings from 1 April 2025 up to the last Friday before the event.

Paying on arrival at the event

We have updated the rules for car owners / exhibitors who have not purchased an advance car owner / exhibitor ticket.

Please be aware that there is no discount available for exhibiting vehicles on event day. Car owners / exhibitors are able to display their vehicle without purchasing an advance exhibitor ticket but will be charged the standard visitor on-the-day price (per person).

Exhibitors wishing to purchase a ticket on arrival at the event should be aware that once the event field is full, they may need to park in the exhibitor overflow area.

General

When purchasing and using an advance car owner / exhibitor ticket booked in advance, car owners / exhibitors are self-certifying that:

  1. The display car is aged 2009 or older; and;
  2. The car will arrive at the event no later than 11am

Please note that if you purchase a car owner / exhibitor ticket but do not comply with both rules, we reserve the right to charge the difference between the discounted advance car owner / exhibitor ticket and the visitor price on arrival at the event.

However, if you wish to swap the car that you booked to display for another car, but the new car is still aged 2009 or older, this is fine and there is no requirement to advise us or change your ticket.

Club Bookings

Clubs are asked to book online to benefit from the cheapest and fastest booking process.

If clubs wish to book more than 5 tickets, this can be done online, or alternatively, via a booking form, by ringing the office on 01484 667776 or emailing info@classicshows.org

We ask that where clubs include vehicles aged 2009 or newer, that in order to protect the integrity of the event, that these vehicles do not reflect more than 25% of the number of total vehicles exhibited by that club. If your club features more than 25% of newer vehicles, please contact the office to discuss to avoid disappointment.

Club vehicles can be situated together and we are supportive of flags, banners and gazebos being used. Subject to space, exhibitors can also pay on the day and locate with an existing club booking.

Display your Classic Motorcycle

The rules and pricing for exhibitors have been updated from 2023. Please ensure that you read and fully understand the below.

There is no requirement to book a motorcycle owner / exhibitor ticket in advance or to request a motorcycle season ticket. Motorcycle owners can purchase a ticket on arrival at the event, payable by cash or card.

Should motorcycle owners wish to pre-book, they can book an advance exhibitor ticket. Same rules apply as above.

10am-4pm

Car owners / exhibitors are advised to arrive between 8am – 9am. All car owners / exhibitors should arrive no later than 11am if using a discounted advance car owner / exhibitor ticket.

Vehicle Displays

Expect to see up to 800 vintage, classic and modern classic vehicles on display including an exclusive display of classic Jaguar’s (Sunday) and Mercedes Benz (Monday) in the courtyard located directly in front of Capesthorne Hall.

A range of classic cars will be displayed by age (pre-60s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s+) and category (American, Sports and Convertibles, Commercial and Military and Kit, Custom and Replica) in the main event fields.

There will also be a wide range of further club stands and displays which will be displayed on the basis of classic and modern classic clubs. Previous club attendees include Cheshire Classic Car Club, the American Automobile Club, RS Owners Club and MR2 Owners Club.

The classic bike section usually attracts a good turn out with anything up to 60 vintage and classic motorcycles will be on display including models from the likes of BSA, Norton and Velocette. Look out for special individual displays with some owners bringing 3/4/5 special bikes.

Live Commentary & Judging

All display vehicles are included in the vehicle judging and awards process which will be overseen by experienced vehicle commentator Les Clayton and judge Peter Fleming. Peter is a previous winner of the Isle of Man TT and also lead the race twice before having engine failures and brings a wealth of experience with classic cars and motorcycles. Les and Peter will present awards across all vehicle categories and culminating in the Car of the Show awards.

The vehicle concours is located in the event arena and provides a much-loved feature of the event. Andy will interview owners regarding their restoration projects and vehicle stories and provide interactive entertainment throughout the event. If you have an interesting vehicle or a story behind it, feel free to let Les know and he may just arrange for you to be interviewed!

To participate in the judging, owners should listen out for their category to be called and then make their way into the arena. The winners of each category are then asked to come back into the arena for the Car of the Show judging and awards at the end of the event.

Each vehicle exhibitor entering the arena for judging is eligible to receive a unique and complementary commemorative plaque.

Trade, Autojumble & Retail Stalls

This event features in the region of 60 retail and autojumble stalls selling a range of hard-to-find parts, merchandise, memorabilia, antiques, craft and vintage items.

Live Music

Following from successful trials in 2023, we are pleased to confirm that the event will include live music from one of our talented performers. The live music takes place in the arena over lunch time, usually at some point between 12-1pm. Expect to hear a range of popular acoustic tracks and feel free put in your request!

A wide selection of quality hot and cold food and drink is available from a range of on-site catering facilities including confectionery, and ice cream vendors. In addition, there is a permanent café onsite.

The Grounds, Visitor Information & Directions

The event is located in the grounds of Capesthorne Hall, Congleton, Siddington, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 9JY.

Capesthorne Hall is a privately owned and listed, neo-classical and early 18th century property with Jacobean frontage. The grounds, house, gardens and lake provide a breath-taking backdrop to a fantastic display of quality classic vehicles.

Visitors are able to explore the superb formal gardens and grounds at no extra cost.

Other Information – Dogs, Car Parking, Toilets, Disability Facilities

We are a very dog friendly organisation and dogs are allowed at the event. We kindly ask that visitors keep their dogs on leads at all times and that owners use the on-site dustbins to dispose of any dog waste.

Visitor parking is free. Ample car parking is available and upon arrival visitors will be directed into the car park by event stewards, will park their vehicles and walk into the event. Visitor parking is free for all events run by Classic Shows at Capesthorne Hall.

Temporary toilets, including disabled facilities, are located within the event. There are also permanent toilets located within Capesthorne Hall.

Disabled visitor parking is available. Please mention that you require disabled parking to the parking stewards, and they will direct you to the relevant area.

TRADING OPPORTUNITIES WITH CLASSIC SHOWS

Classic Shows events offer an ideal opportunity to sell, or promote to, a large number of classic car and motorcycle enthusiasts including vehicle owners (exhibitors) and members of the general public (visitors). Common items for sale include hard-to-find parts, merchandise, memorabilia, manuals / books, signs, number plates, polishes and detailing items, furniture, vintage/antique items and Americana.

In addition, the events also attract considerable family and day visitors providing further opportunities including craft items, gifts, photographs and posters, clothing and confectionery (fudge, cakes etc).

As Classic Shows events are located at some of the UK’s most prestigious country homes and venues, the events attract a strong ABC1 / professional / high disposable income demographic which in turn presents the perfect opportunity to achieve event profile or sales from a qualified audience.

Trading Pitches

Pitches are 6x6m (or multiples thereof), outdoors and are located on grass unless stated otherwise. Pitches are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

We have plenty of outdoor pitches, so don’t expect to run out, but if you would like a particular pitch it’s best to arrive early as we do not reserve outside pitches in advance (other than for Premium Trade – see below).

Please note that the phone / internet signal is very poor at this venue. This may delay or limit the ability to make payments by card / phone and you may wish to bring your own facilities if you wish to take card payments.

Premium Trade

Want to stand out from the crowd? Want to really push your sales? Then why not speak to the office about the exclusive premium trading opportunities offered at Classic Shows events?

At all events we have identified those trading locations which offer the highest footfall and / or greatest trading profile, for example those locations adjacent to the judging arena, catering village or on the end of a trade row. These locations are ideal for traders wishing to maximise the trading opportunity by promoting a new product launch, product placements or special offers.

Premium trade pitches start from 6x6m and multiple spaces are also available. Spaces are allocated and reserved in advance. A site map is available for each event identifying the premium trading locations – see the Booking Form section of the website for further details.

How to Book

To book please download the Trade and Autojumble Booking Form, complete the form and return to info@classicshows.org or post to Classic Shows at 26 Westgate, Honley, Holmfirth, HD9 6AA. Alternatively call us on 01484 667776.

Please note that we cannot take trade bookings that involve mainstream catering such as hot food and drinks.
